Murano glass comes from the island of Murano - located on the coast of Venice, Italy. Murano glass is made of 70% sand and 30% other materials, including silica. Artists melt the glass and shapes it before it cools into it's solid form. Some Murano glass beads are imported from China but the quality isn't nearly as good as these authentic Murano glass beads from Italy.
